Deputy Commissioner Reviews Sewerage Cleaning and Suthra Punjab Program in Rahim Yar Khan

Rahim Yar Khan: Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan, Zaheer Anwar Jappa, conducted a detailed inspection of sewerage cleaning operations in various parts of the city and reviewed the overall performance of WASA (Water and Sanitation Agency). The visit was aimed at ensuring better drainage facilities and improving cleanliness under the Suthra Punjab Program.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner visited Hassan Colony, Niazi Colony, Thalli Chowk, and Rehman Colony, where he closely monitored ongoing sewerage line cleaning work. He expressed concern over water stagnation in low-lying areas and directed WASA officials to ensure regular and timely cleaning of sewerage lines to prevent urban flooding and public inconvenience.

Zaheer Anwar Jappa emphasized that providing basic civic facilities to citizens is the top priority of the district administration. He instructed the concerned departments to take immediate steps to address public complaints related to drainage and sanitation. Strict directions were also issued to improve coordination among departments so that public issues could be resolved efficiently.

In addition to sewerage inspection, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed cleanliness activities under the Suthra Punjab Program on Shahbazpur Road and Bhil Nagar Bypass. He stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness at the city’s entry and exit points, stating that these areas create the first impression for visitors and must be kept clean at all times.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed all departments to adopt a joint and well-coordinated strategy to enhance municipal services and ensure a clean, healthy environment for residents. He warned that negligence in sanitation duties would not be tolerated and accountability would be ensured at every level.

Citizens appreciated the field visit and expressed hope that continuous monitoring by the district administration would lead to long-term improvements in sanitation and public services across Rahim Yar Khan.

معائنہ کے دوران ڈپٹی کمشنر نے حسن کالونی، نیازی کالونی، تھلی چوک اور رحمان کالونی کا دورہ کیا جہاں انہوں نے سیوریج لائن کی صفائی کے جاری کام کا بغور جائزہ لیا۔ انہوں نے نشیبی علاقوں میں پانی کے جمود پر تشویش کا اظہار کیا اور واسا حکام کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ سیوریج لائنوں کی باقاعدگی اور بروقت صفائی کو یقینی بنائیں تاکہ شہری سیلاب اور عوام کو تکلیف سے بچایا جا سکے۔

ظہیر انور جپہ نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ شہریوں کو بنیادی شہری سہولیات کی فراہمی ضلعی انتظامیہ کی اولین ترجیح ہے۔ انہوں نے متعلقہ محکموں کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ نکاسی آب اور صفائی سے متعلق عوامی شکایات کے ازالے کے لیے فوری اقدامات کریں۔ محکموں کے درمیان رابطوں کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے بھی سخت ہدایات جاری کی گئیں تاکہ عوامی مسائل کو موثر انداز میں حل کیا جا سکے۔

ڈپٹی کمشنر نے سیوریج کے معائنہ کے علاوہ شہباز پور روڈ اور بھیل نگر بائی پاس پر سوتھرا پنجاب پروگرام کے تحت صفائی ستھرائی کی سرگرمیوں کا بھی جائزہ لیا۔ انہوں نے شہر کے داخلی اور خارجی راستوں پر صفائی کو برقرار رکھنے کی اہمیت پر زور دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ علاقے زائرین کے لیے پہلا تاثر پیدا کرتے ہیں اور انہیں ہر وقت صاف رکھنا چاہیے۔

ڈپٹی کمشنر نے تمام محکموں کو مزید ہدایت کی کہ وہ میونسپل سروسز کو بڑھانے اور مکینوں کے لیے صاف، صحت مند ماحول کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے مشترکہ اور مربوط حکمت عملی اپنائیں ۔ انہوں نے خبردار کیا کہ صفائی کے فرائض میں غفلت برداشت نہیں کی جائے گی اور ہر سطح پر احتساب کو یقینی بنایا جائے گا۔

شہریوں نے فیلڈ وزٹ کو سراہا اور امید ظاہر کی کہ ضلعی انتظامیہ کی طرف سے مسلسل نگرانی رحیم یار خان میں صفائی اور عوامی خدمات میں طویل مدتی بہتری کا باعث بنے گی۔
